We're still alive!

But our computer isn't. I haven't been able to upload pictures for a while and we just got the blue screen of death...

Quick update on the Hains'...

Jared just took a new job with the EP group in the Utah Heart Clinic. There are 5 cardioloists and Jared is now the 5th PA. He is super busy and loving it!

I am loving mommyhood in the summertime! We have spent many hours in the swimming pool here at our apartment complex--both of our girls are little fish! I just picked up road biking with my friend rochelle and I love it!

Kaylee is taking swim lessons and is doing really well. It's so fun to see her cute little head bobbing up and down in the pool with the other little girls! She is potty trained now and she puts herself to sleep at night; jared and I feel so spoiled!! She says the funniest things...I really need to start putting them up on the blog.

Ellie is still the sweetest, easiest baby on the planet. She is crawling a little bit, and she wants to get her hands on everything she can. She waves a lot and smiles and talks to everyone. Between both of our social girls we have the noisy bench at church--I always try to sit in the back so there are less people looking at us from behind to tempt them. Ellie also says yi-yi when I try to get her to say bye-bye!

I have lots of pictures to put up, so keep posted!!

Kaylee said...

Kaylee was just sitting in the middle of the stairs, hungry and sucking her thumb. I finally got her to agree to eat some mandarin oranges. So I opened a container of them and went to take them up the stairs to her. I tripped on all the laundry at the bottom of the stairs and clumsily landed at Kaylees feet--successfully not spilling the oranges. Kaylee giggled and said, "You cute!" I laughed and told her that she was the cute one and she said, "No, you cute, Mommy. You cute."

Potty training

I haven't been in a hurry to potty train Kaylee because I don't want to have to clean pee out of carpet or worry about finding bathrooms while out running errands. Yeah, I know that's lame. But Kaylee started saying, "Potty toilet" and then she'd run to the little potty chair we have in the downstairs bathroom. She loves to flush the potty down the toilet and wave bye-bye. A few days ago I caught her sitting on the bottom stair taking her diaper off. She stood up, leaving her diaper laying on the stairs. Lovely. I told her that she needed her diaper so she didn't get pee on the floor. She said, "No, I go potty in the toilet. Okay!" and took off running down the hallway with her darling, bare bum cheeks to her potty chair.

I have got to be the luckiest mom in the world!! Of course, I shouldn't congratulate myself on my luckiness yet...there's still a lot of time for it to backfire:) And knowing Kaylee and her love for making messes, it's very likely to!

Snowfamily!

One night up at my parents house Uncle Jay, Kaylee, and I went to play in the snow. We decided to make a little family of snowmen. We had lots of fun, but in the morning the falling snow had covered all but the head of the tiny guy and made the rest of them look deformed. Sad day!!

Kaylee said...

A couple weeks ago I tried checking Kaylee's diaper because someone was leaking some smells. When I tried to pull the top of the diaper out Kaylee ran away and said, "No, Mommy, that's my toilet!"

Uncle Jay--at it again...

Poor Kaylee was just playing with bubbles in the kitchen sink...then along came Jay, who picked up a handful of bubbles and blew them at Kaylee...

He leaned over the sink in laughter as she wiped away the bubbles...

Of course she loved it and wanted him to do it again...and again...and again...

Don't worry, she also got him back

Let it Snow!!

Kaylee has so much fun playing in the snow in our little courtyard. We have windows from ceiling to floor in the front of our apartment (except or the front door), so I can just let her roam. She can't escape and I can see her anywhere she goes. I love it!!!

Our little punk...

Kaylee loves to sip water and "spit it out," especially since she saw Madagascar. We've been trying to teach her that it is only allowed when she's outside or in the bath tub. Well last week she also discovered how to gurgle water. Today we have been at my parents house and she was gurgling water for us. Then she decided that she wanted to spit it out. I caught her just as she was going to do it, so she decided to gurgle again. A little later I stopped paying attention to what she was doing, until I realized that she was taking a drink of water and then running down the hallway. I tried following her the next time. When she realized I was behind her she said (while trying to keep the water in her mouth) "No, Mommy! Go away, Mommy." I slipped back around the corner, and when she decided that she was safe she tilted her head back and sprayed water all over. When I peeked back around the corner she just laughed and said, "A spit it out!"

I'm sure I will have a ton more stories like this to come. She's such a stinker...it's a good thing she's so cute too!
